It’s that time of year again! Arizona Priority Care would like to remind our Medicare members that the Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP) ends Dec. 7. That means that if you would like to join, switch or end your Medicare Advantage plan and/or Part D coverage, you must do so before the Dec. 7 deadline. Afterwards, you will not be able to make changes to your 2015 Medicare health and drug coverage unless you qualify for one of the Special Enrollment Periods.

Don’t plan to make any changes to your Medicare health and/or drug coverage this year? Even if you do nothing during the election period your plan may still change. Medicare health plans and Part D prescription drug plans can change deductibles, premiums, cost-sharing and some benefits, or even discontinue coverage every year, so it’s best for members to review their 2015 plans before the Dec. 7 deadline. If your insurance company has renewed your Medicare Advantage Plan and you make no changes, you will be automatically enrolled into the plan for 2015. Members should have received an Annual Notice of Change in the mail outlining changes in their plan for 2015. Any new changes to your plan will go into effect Jan. 1, 2015.
